What Will You Do To Rejuvenate Yourself This Spring?

If you’re anything like us, winter is a time to cozy up, store energy, and contemplate… and it’s been a long dark winter!

Now that Spring is officially here, you can sense a shift. This nature-led time of renewal is inspiring and powerful if we take a moment to be in the rhythm of the seasons. It’a a time of new beginnings and growth, and you get to see the transformation before your very eyes.

Tips of green appear from the earth, crocuses, tulips and daffodils give us hope, life, and colour. Even if you live downtown surrounded by buildings you can still find signs of Spring; the dandelions creeping between gaps in the sidewalk, and grass peeking through where it shouldn’t be. The sun greets you earlier in the morning and lights your day for longer, and the birds chime in at first light.


How do you feel yourself stirring from winter? Now is the perfect time to consider setting some Spring resolutions that focus on renewal and rejuvenation. How will you take inspiration from nature around you?

​Consider committing to one new habit that recharges and energizes. Here are some ideas:
  • -Get up 15 minutes early to read for pleasure
  • -Start walking part of the way to work
  • -Write down 5 things you’re grateful for daily
  • -Protect your energy from those who exhaust you
  • -Set an earlier bedtime and protect it like your health depends on it (it does)
  • -Believe that you are more than your illness
  • -Be honest with yourself and your needs

Then set one new intention on how you will pass on this Spring energy to others. For example:
  • While in conversation listen intently before you formulate a response
  • Extend to people your empathy and the benefit of the doubt
  • Give a genuine compliment to a stranger daily
  • Listen and just “be” with a friend in need, without trying to fix things
  • Make an unexpected gift for someone without expecting anything in return
  • Set a weekly meditation date with a friend

There are all sorts of things you can do to follow the cues of nature, and find sense of renewal at this time of year. We encourage you to take the time, and be deliberate about how you will choose to mirror nature’s rhythms.
